If there’s one thing that is becoming patently obvious during the Democratic primaries, it’s that ‘Mayor Pete’ Buttigieg is a lying, warmongering, corporate shill of the establishment. Well, ‘establishment-wannabe’ would be more apt.
In his efforts to get behind the Oval Office desk, Mayor Pete is taking every establishment stance he can, endangering the US military, and shamelessly lying through his teeth at every opportunity—and he’s doing all of this while bending over backwards to make connections with as many crooked American billionaires as he can.
While other Democratic hopefuls are railing against Facebook’s power-hungry, half-robot-half-human, CEO Mark Zuckerberg for his near monopoly over the opinion-influencing information FB, IG, and SC users are allowed to see, Pete Buttigieg is going in the opposite direction by hiring two staffers sent his way by Zuckerberg himself to direct his campaign.
Buttigieg has a history with Facebook. Attending Harvard at the same time as Zuckerberg, he was Facebook user #287, when it was brand new; and when Zuckerbeg came to Indiana on a public relations tour in 2017, at a time when Mayor Pete was lobbying to make the city a hub for big tech investment, he dropped by his old buddy’s house and the two drove around the city together, posing for selfies and most likely plotting how to take over the country in a few years.
It isn’t just Facebook, though. Mayor Pete’s been under heavy scrutiny for months after reports came out highlighting the massive donations he’s accepted from various players in big tech, such as those from Google and Uber.
And isn’t even just Silicon Valley. The South Bend mayor is also making friends on America’s other coast. Those loveable characters on Wall Street helped him raise a staggering $25 million in three months earlier this year.
“Donors on Wall Street and, particularly, in Silicon Valley, appear to favor the South Bend, Indiana mayor more than both Biden and California native Kamala Harris. The question is why—what does Big Tech expect from Mayor Pete?”–New Republic, What Does Big Tech Want From Buttigieg? 7/9/19.
It goes without saying that if Mayor Pete does swindle his way into the White House, we know who he will owe it to, and therefore we know who he will be serving. Hint, it won’t be the American people.
It’s a longshot, though. While rich white Americans seem to like the private-school raised Buttigieg, black America hates his guts.
As journalist Michael Harriot pointed out the other day in his piece on Buttigieg on TheRoot.com—titled ‘Pete Buttigieg Is a Lying MF’—Buttegieg blamed a lack of good role-models and imagination in African American culture for their struggles in equality, rather than recognizing and opposing the systemic racism that actively holds African Americans back from birth on.
“Majority-minority schools receive $23 billion less in funding than majority-white schools, according to a recent study by EdBuild. Black students in Indiana, the state where Buttigieg serves as mayor, and across the country, are disciplined more harshly than white students. But even though Buttigieg has never attended a school with more than 10 percent black students, he thinks he knows what’s stopping black kids from achieving their educational dreams.
Apparently, it’s not the fact that the unemployment rate for black college graduates is twice as high as the unemployment rate for white grads. Black college graduates are paid 80 cents for every dollar a white person with the same education earns. White people leave college with lower debt and higher earnings. White kids get more resources, more advanced classes and have access to more technology. But Pete says it could all be solved with a vision-board.”–Pete Buttigieg is a lying MF, 11/25/19.
Unhappy with the article, Buttigieg then creepily used his connections to track down Michael Harriot’s phone number and called him the next day, only to have Harriot reiterate why he called him a liar.
“’We have to disabuse ourselves from the notion that the problem with educational inequality is because of an esoteric lack of support,’ I explained. ‘That’s a lie. And a man as educated as yourself knows it’s a lie. And to regurgitate that narrative publicly is not just dangerous, it is malpractice.’”–Pete Buttigieg Called Me. Here’s What Happened, 11/26/19.
Well put, Michael.
Aside from all these flashing signs of danger, let’s not forget Mayor Pete’s stance on war and his lack of respect for the lives of his fellow service members.
The former-soldier idiotically stated in an interview last week that he would ‘absolutely’ send American troops into Mexico to fight drug cartels.
When challenged on this by Tulsi Gabbard in the November debate, Buttigieg twisted her words and condescendingly argued that he never said he wanted ‘to invade Mexico,’ which isn’t what Gabbard said at all.
She pointed out that he said he would be willing to send troops to Mexico to fight drug dealers, and then she said the ‘fact-checkers’ will easily be able verify it.
Well Pete, I’m a fact-checker. Tulsi was right. You said it, so own it. For you to deny it just proves Michael Harriot all the more correct for calling you ‘a lying motherfucker.’
It’s also a fact in the prior debate Mayor Pete pushed for keeping troops in Syria indefinitely.
Now, as is usually the case with sociopaths, lying, lack of empathy, and brazen underhandedness are just parts of the whole. They also, for example, have no personality of their own, and therefore have to borrow their’s from others.
Aside from a new article outlining his near-zero support from Latino voters, Politico just released another article detailing Mayor Pete’s attempts at paralleling himself with another lying warmonger—Barack Obama.
Buttigieg, it seems, has commandeered Obama’s personality, even copying his voice, and is shamelessly trying to advertise his campaign as a twin to the former president’s.
“But that framing is coming under serious question — and might be rendered entirely useless — as the South Bend, Indiana, mayor’s efforts to win over black voters continue to fall flat.”
“During his speech at the Iowa Liberty-Justice Dinner in early November — a breakthrough event for Obama in 2007 — Buttigieg sought to reminded attendees of the similarities between the two hopefuls.
“Describing himself as ‘a young man with a funny name,’ he purposely mimicked the language Obama, from the earliest days of his national political career, used to refer to himself. His voice that evening was also a few octaves lower, booming at the end of every word in the same way Obama’s does in big speeches.”–Politico, How Buttigieg got knocked off the Obama track, 11/27/19.
No matter what way you chop it, Pete Buttigieg is not to be trusted. His transparent pandering, his relationships with Wall Street and big tech, his privileged upbringing, his penchant for continuous war and military conflict, and his automatic tendencies to lie about all of it without batting an eye just make him a shorter, less orange Donald Trump, and therefore every point he drops in the polls should be a breath of fresh air for the future of America.
Unfortunately, he is currently buying his way up those polls. So it’s on you America. Look at who and what this bought-and-paid-for candidate represents and do yourself a favor. Pay him no more attention. Because believe me, if the day should come that he gets into the White House, that’s the day he stops paying attention to you.
